High-Quality Handheld 3D Scanning under Any Conditions

Hybrid Light Source — "The Best of Both Worlds"

Einstar 2 combines 17 blue laser lines (Laser HD) for ultra-fine detailing of small objects and IR VCSEL (IR Rapid) for fast capture of large and dark/shiny surfaces. This offers the advantage of versatility:

  • Laser HD – for jewelry, small prototypes, and parts requiring accuracy up to 0.05 mm;
  • IR Rapid – for body parts, sculptures, and portraits in field conditions.

This combination enhances data accuracy and reliability without the need for powder coating.

Mobility and Wireless Operation

The compact form factor and removable battery (≈3 hours of operation) make EINSTAR 2 a convenient tool for on-site work: restoration, museum inspections, and reverse engineering in manufacturing. Built-in Wi-Fi and USB-C provide connection flexibility; a wired connection can be used if necessary (e.g., when there is Wi-Fi interference).

High Scanning Speed and Data Volumes

Fast processing – up to 2.5 million pts/s in Laser HD and 1.44 million pts/s in IR Rapid – allows for quick acquisition of dense and clean point clouds, reducing time for capture and subsequent processing. Furthermore, a large FOV for a single pass is available in IR mode, speeding up the scanning of large objects.

Reliability in Complex Lighting Conditions

Einstar 2 is designed to work both in the studio and outdoors: Laser HD handles brightness up to 110,000 lux, IR Rapid – up to 70,000 lux. This means fewer limitations when scanning outdoors or in brightly lit rooms.

Color Quality and Texturing

The built-in RGB camera (2.3 MP texture) provides realistic color texture, suitable for visualization, AR/VR, and artistic tasks where not only geometry but also the object's appearance is important.

Ease of Use and No Need for Spraying

Einstar 2 is optimized for "no-spray" scanning – the need for matte paint coating is often eliminated, saving time and preserving the original surface (important for antiques, restoration, and medical applications).

Application Areas of SHINING 3D Einstar 2

  • 3D printing and personal manufacturing – a quick path from a physical object to a printable model.
  • Industrial design and reverse engineering – scanning prototypes and parts for partial or complete restoration of CAD models.
  • Automotive aftermarket/body repair — capturing parts, shaped elements, and assemblies.
  • Restoration and culture – scanning of artifacts and sculptures without the use of spraying.
  • Education and research – a convenient tool for laboratories and training courses.

EXStar Hub / EXModel - Advantages of the Workflow Set

Einstar 2 is supplied and supported by the unified ecosystem software EXStar Hub (interface for scanning and device management) and the EXModel module (tools for mesh processing and conversion to CAD formats). Key advantages:

  • Intuitive Workflow – user-friendly interface, built-in prompts, and automatic scan alignment (smart tracking).
  • Integration with EXModel – accelerated transition from mesh to corrected model/CAD (useful for engineers and those preparing data for 3D printing).
  • Regular Updates and Support – downloading new versions and fixes via the official download center; releases available for Windows and macOS (Apple Silicon).
  • Flexible Export Formats – STL/OBJ/PLY/3MF/ASC – suitable for printing, visualization, and analytics.
  • Note on System Requirements: for comfortable work, a modern PC configuration is recommended (Win11 64-bit, powerful graphics card - NVidia RTX-class or equivalent, 32-64 GB RAM (for large assemblies).
Software for scanning and processing
