The Scanology iReal M3 3D scanner is a new generation of portable color 3D scanner that combines high accuracy, scanning speed, and versatility. It is ideal for 3D scanning of people, objects of various sizes and materials, both indoors and outdoors.

Two light sources:

  • Infrared parallel lasers: provide high accuracy and scanning speed for medium to large objects (≥0.05 m). Various materials (including dark and reflective surfaces.
  • VCSEL infrared structured light: Ideal for scanning people and small objects (≥30 cm) with high detail.

High accuracy:

  • Basic accuracy: up to 0.1 mm.
  • Volumetric accuracy: up to 0.25 mm/m.

Fast scanning:

  • Scanning time per frame: 0,12 с.

Infrared parallel laser

  • Quasi-industrial accuracy. The iReal M3 has a base accuracy of up to 0.1 mm, and its volumetric accuracy reaches up to 0.25 mm/m. It can meet the needs of 3D data capture in quasi-industrial scenes.
  • Extremely high resolution. Its resolution can reach 0.1mm. It can reconstruct high-resolution geometric structures and capture fine edge details, easily completing the task of scanning objects larger than 5 cm.
  • Strong material adaptability. It is capable of scanning industrial parts, car exteriors and interiors using black and reflective surfaces. No powder is required.
  • Adaptable to dark and light colors. Compared to color lasers, infrared radiation sources (invisible light) are absorbed relatively less when projected onto surfaces of different colors. Therefore, the new iReal M3 in combination with infrared light can provide a smoother and more comfortable scanning experience.

  • Hybrid alignment modes. If objects have inadequate geometric or texture characteristics, we can use a hybrid alignment mode (alignment of markers and objects). Just stick a few markers on the unexpressive parts and you can smoothly align your scans.
  • Smoother, easier to use. Large scanning area: The large field of view (FoV), up to 580 mm x 550 mm, allows you to quickly and accurately scan medium to large objects. Depth of field: 720 mm scanning depth of field and better smoothness of operation will help you get started easily.
  • No markers. If your objects are full of continuous, non-repeating, and varied geometric/texture elements, you can scan them directly using the geometry and alignment of the elements. Markerless 3D scanning and one-button startup improve on-site efficiency.

How does the iReal M3 3D scanner scan infrared?

Using parallel infrared laser lines and VCSEL infrared structured light, the device performs optical measurements using the triangulation principle. Infrared parallel laser 3D reconstruction and three-dimensional reconstruction with VCSEL infrared structured light provide dynamic 3D information of objects. This data can be used to create 3D models of objects using specialized software.

This approach allows you to accurately measure the surface of objects and obtain realistic 3D models.
